Why use the EQ-i 2.0 Assessment?

This international assessment of Emotional Intelligence is part of Real Counseling Inc. EQ Coaching Executive Leadership Package. It helps assess your current development of the Emotional Intelligence quotient. The goal is to show how it reflects on you and others around you. Psychological scholars have studied EQ for more than thirty years. Thousands of studies have shown that the greater one’s EQ, the more likely work is successful.

What Sectors use the EQ-i 2.0?

Sectors that involve people and communication. The EQ-i 2.0 assessment provided by MHS is one of the largest internationally used tools to assess EQ. It can be used in any sector of service to improve participants EQ Here are just a few examples:

How Does the EQ-i 2.0 Measure Your Emotional Intelligence?

Taking the EQ-i 2.0 provides an estimate of your EQ skills based on the answers you give to the 133-question online assessment. Your responses are compared to a representative sample of fourteen hundred professionals. These comparisons estimate the EQ skills that you are strong in with those that you score low in or use the least. (Graphic A below)

Example of Interpretation 

Pat’s scorers are very high in Assertiveness. When used in the right circumstances, it is beneficial in his work. However, the score indicates that he is using this skill too much. His other EQ subscales, Interpersonal Relationship, and Empathy are lower. Many people he works with perceive Pat as brash. He has always considered himself “extremely confident.”  Pat is unaware of how he is perceived; this may keep him from maintaining beneficial relationships. The EQ-i 2.0 research suggests that he leverages Empathy and Interpersonal Relationships, allowing him to balance his Assertiveness for more positive interactions.

Which Report is Best for Me?

    • Workplace Report  This report is for an employee in a workplace that is interested in improving their Emotional Intelligence but does not have a leadership role (Graphic B & B.1)
    • Leadership Report This report is for a leader who has people entrusted to their care and the responsibility of asking for deliverables or output (Managers, Directors Team). The leadership report includes all standard work reports, with three additional measures listed below:

Leadership Traits (Graphic C.)  Authenticity, Insight Innovation, and Coaching are highly High Leadership skills that are correlated to a high EQ, particularly in these areas of focus. The EQ scores are correlated with these elements in mind, and additional suggestions and techniques are provided.  

Leadership Bar (Graph C.1) This benchmark compares your EQ skills with the top 50 percent of leaders normed in this assessment. 

Derailment Potential (Graphic C.2) There is a section that will warn of leadership blindspots based on your profile results. These could be obstacles preventing you from reaching your leadership potential (Graphic C.2) 

    • 360-degree Report  Recommended for company Executive Suite or senior level management. There are likely multiple leaders and levels within the organization who help ensure that the goals of the group are attained. The 360 assessment will compute and reflect information collected via email from managers, peers, and direct reports. (Graph D)  This gauges how this leader is executing EQ skills in their vision of leadership and if those around them feel that they are providing an accurate reflection by graph quadrants where there is agreement and blind spots.

How Much is this Going to Cost?

Pick your assessment and add the debrief fee.

The assessment price is that which MHS charges. I collect this fee and purchase the assessment. My debrief fee is charged for interpretation and debrief 50 Min. video conference.

Workplace Report  100 test + 200 debrief = $300

Leadership Report 150 test + 250 debrief = $400

360-degree Report 270 test + 350 debrief = $620

A group report is also available – Ask for details.

How do you Take the EQ-i 2.0? 

  1. Pick your test. You will pay for the test and debrief fee at this time.
  2. I text you for payment.  
  3. Sign a consent form.   
  4. Look for an email. Then, click the link from MHS. 
  5. Take your online assessment through the MHS portal. 
  6. I score and send you a copy of your results. 
  7. Use the link below to schedule your 50-minute  test result Deprrief  (via Zoom or Google) 48 hours after you complete your assessment.

I’ll send you a Zoom or Google Meet link (your choice) to debrief the scores, and answer questions.  If you don’t have the link 24 hours before we meet, please text or call me at (210) 452-3041



After the session, I’ll send a  “Growth Graph” (example below) with an area of improvement related to your EQ score. This is a free additional tool ($100 value) leaving you with a concrete takeaway along with your assessment.
